The Program Manager plays a critical leadership role within CWS, overseeing the daily operations of the Pre-Employment Prep and Internship Programs. Pre-Employment services help to bridge the gap between high school graduation and employment. These services take place in a variety of settings including high school classrooms, at CWS, and in the community! This position ensures that the organization’s mission and vision are executed with integrity, efficiency, and measurable impact. The Manager is responsible for supervising staff, coordinating program logistics, and developing strategies to enhance service delivery and program outcomes.

Responsibilities
Leadership & Staff Management
- Supervise the Pre-Employment Prep and Internship teams, providing guidance, support, and performance evaluations.
- Assist with onboarding and training of new employees, ensuring alignment with organizational standards and culture.
- Promote a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
- Oversee daily operations of the Pre-Employment Prep and Internship Programs, including program enrollment and service delivery.
- Coordinate and manage the logistics of the Summer PVIP Program.
- Support internship programming in counties outside of Wake.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records and documentation for all internship-related activities.
- Process semi-monthly payroll for the Internship Program.
- Evaluate and improve operational procedures to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
- Conduct presentations for internal and external stakeholders to promote program awareness and recruitment.
- Serve as a liaison between students, families, staff, medical providers, state agencies, and business partners.
- Provide clear and consistent communication regarding program expectations, requirements, and outcomes.
- Deliver group-based and individual services to youth with disabilities (ages 14–22) in school and community settings.
- Collaborate with schools and external organizations to align services with current curriculum structures.
- Design and facilitate workshops and activities that prepare youth for future employment.
- Provide training and support to staff to ensure consistent and effective service delivery.
Required Education
- Preference given to people with a bachelor’s degree in special education or a related field. Equivalent combination of education/experience will be eligible.
Experience & Minimum Qualifications
- 5+ years proven combined experience in special education, program management, people management, and operational oversight.
- Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing needs.
- Commitment to ethical practices and the mission of CWS.
- Must have a valid NC Driver’s License and a driving record that adheres to Agency standards.
Physical Requirements
- Position is considered medium, requiring lifting of up to 50 pounds, 75% standing/walking and the ability to bend, stoop, push/pull, and find and gross dexterity skills when training persons supported on the job.
- Local travel up to 2 hours on occasion required.
