Position Overview

Community Workforce solutions is seeking an Employment Specialist to support individuals with disabilities in finding and maintaining meaningful employment. This role combines career coaching, job development, employer outreach, and hands-on support to help individuals build skills, reach their employment goals, and succeed in the workplace.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individualized career guidance, job search assistance, interview preparation, and workplace readiness support.
  • Conduct assessments to identify individual strengths, interests, skills, and employment goals.
  • Develop relationships with local employers and identify appropriate employment opportunities.
  • Match individuals with positions based on their skills, interests, and goals.
  • Provide job coaching and on-the-job support as needed.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of services, progress, and employment outcomes.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, families, employers, community partners, and team members.
Qualifications
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Human Services or a related field; High School Diploma may be accepted with relevant experience.
  • Minimum of two years experience providing services to individuals with disabilities or in a rehabilitation-related field. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
  • Strong communication, relationship-building, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Valid North Carolina Driver's License with a clean driving record in accordance with agency standards.
  • Ability to use a personal vehicle for routine work-related travel; mileage reimbursement is provided.
  • Ability to successfully complete required background and drug screening.
Preferred: Experience with EIPD (formerly known as Vocational Rehabilitation), electronic case management systems, Microsoft Excel, employer engagement, or job development.

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift 10-25 pounds and sit or stand for extended periods.
