HR Assistant with Recruitment & Retention Expereince

We're looking for a strategic HR Assistant with Recruitment & Retention Experience who's passionate about connecting great people with meaningful work. You'll play a dual role in finding top talent for our growing team while developing programs that keep our employees engaged and thriving.

The pay range for this position is up to $25 per hour

What You'll Do

Talent Acquisition

  • Develop creative recruiting strategies across multiple channels and social media platforms
  • Partner closely with hiring managers to understand needs and craft compelling job postings
  • Source candidates through LinkedIn, job boards, networking events, referral programs, and other creative methods
  • Conduct engaging phone and video interviews that showcase our culture
  • Manage our ATS and maintain a strong candidate pipeline
  • Represent us at career fairs and industry events
  • Track recruiting metrics and optimize our hiring process

Employee Retention & Engagement

  • Design and implement retention programs that address real employee needs
  • Conduct stay interviews and exit interviews to gather actionable insights
  • Analyze turnover data to identify trends and develop targeted solutions
  • Create onboarding experiences that set new hires up for long-term success
  • Plan team-building activities and recognition programs
  • Collaborate with managers to address retention challenges proactively
  • Measure employee satisfaction and engagement through surveys and feedback
Human Resources
  • Communicate with hiring directors, new employees, and other Managers frequently to keep abreast of hiring and other important information.
  • Review and implement Agency procedures/practices/policies and adhere to
    agency and program standards, including those applicable through CARF, IEPD,
    school systems, HIPPA, NC MH/DD/SAS, Division of Health Service Regulation,
    and Medicaid as well as any other applicable oversight.

  • Maintain job descriptions and employee records. Ensure coordination and
    compliance via personnel file audits and other organizational tools.

What We're Looking For

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in HR, Business, Psychology, or related field
  • 2-4 years of experience in recruitment, talent acquisition, or HR
  • Hands-on experience with applicant tracking systems and HRIS
  • Strong communication skills and natural relationship-building ability
  • Proficiency with LinkedIn, job boards, and recruiting tools
  • Data-driven mindset with Excel skills for reporting and analysis
  • Genuine interest in both finding talent and keeping employees happy

Bonus Points:

  • HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP) or a strong interest in working toward one
  • Experience with employee engagement surveys or retention programs
  • Knowledge of employment law and compliance
  • Project management experience
  • Bilingual capabilities
